Anjum Malik is an established script writer and poet with a substantial profile. She has written several critically acclaimed original plays for BBC Radio Drama (including serials for ‘Woman’s Hour’) and for television (including episodes for ‘Doctors’).
Anjum is regularly commissioned to work with education and organisations to produce drama through research within specific groups. Unity FM, Birmingham commissioned a series called ‘Breaking The Silence’, which explores British Muslim Women and their lives in contemporary Britain. These series are used for drama, discussion and debate regularly.
Anjum’s original work for stage includes Nahid, a monologue which has been in performance for over 12 years touring schools, universities, community and arts organisations, museums, art galleries. It has been and is being used to inspire original work, new voices. It is used for teaching the craft of writing for school curriculum, undergraduate and postgraduate writing degrees.
Anjum works regularly with education, arts and community organisations delivering script writing programmes for participants writing their own scripts and producing their work through drama and performance.
